CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS
Valerie, an exchange teacher, from Sedlescombe Primary School in Englandshows the children some pictures of her class at Sedlescombe school making "Christingles" and shows the New Creation children how to celebrate this festival.
The children learn the chorus to the "Christingles" song and enjoy the festival celebrations!
The Christingle begins with
an orange
Like the world which the Lord God made.
For creation is full of
his glory;
All
around we see his love displayed.
CHORUS:-
Sing
Christingle! Sing Christingle!
Sing Christingle from the darkness to the light.
Sing
Christingle! Sing Christingle!
Sing Christingle to the light
Every
year we give thanks for the seasons
And the fruits of the earth to share.
The
Christingle is here to remind us
That God loves his people everywhere.
CHORUS:-
Sing
Christingle! Sing Christingle!
Sing Christingle from the darkness to the light.
Sing
Christingle! Sing Christingle!
Sing Christingle to the light
To
complete the Christingle a candle,
Telling us of the world's true light.
For
the darkness shall not overcome it,
Jesus shines on in the darkest night.
CHORUS:-
Sing
Christingle! Sing Christingle!
Sing Christingle from the darkness to the light.
Sing
Christingle! Sing Christingle!
Sing Christingle to the light
FOOD

Drawing
pictures of "dinner plates", the children created a typical, favourite
meal. These included South Indian favourites, delicious idlies (steamed rice cakes),
dosai (pancakes again made from rice, but lightly fried), rice and sambar (a lentil
soup) as well as pizza!
